The Resort Host/ Hostess is responsible for ensuring that customers are happy with the service they are receiving, prior, during and after their stay. Resort Hosts should provide a service that goes above and beyond guest’s expectations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and non- verbal communication skills.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in receptionist positions.
• Basic computer literacy skills and talent for technology
• Customer service orientation
• Problem- solving skills
• Polite, friendly, and self-assured attitude
• Skills in multitasking and good time management.
• Availability to work in shifts as needed.
• British Virgin Islands Food Handlers Card
Physical Requirement
• Frequent walking with some standing at times.
• Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.
• Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.
• Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bimanual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
Duties:.
• Ensuring guest satisfaction is beyond their expectations and overcoming any issues that may arise. Anticipate guest’s needs and respond promptly.
• Assist with concierge services in a gracious and professional manner.
• Creating a daily briefing sheet that highlights important information.
• Monitoring check-ins and check-outs are done correctly with all bills properly posted.
• Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are followed daily.
• Review arrivals noting special requests, rates, packages and blocking rooms as necessary.
• Ensure that the Resort Hosts provide gracious and efficient telephone service. Calls should be answered promptly and knowledgeably, always ensuring complete and accurate information.
• Complete all items listed on shift checklists.
• Ensure that the front desk and lobby area are clean and well organized.
• Working closely with all departments at the Resort to offer the best service to our guests.
• Maintaining stock items required for the department to function cohesively.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to cope with stressful situations.
• Any other duties assigned by the management or supervisor.
