Circle of Hope is an NGO located east of Mvera in Dowa District near Katengeza Trading Centre. COH currently consists of a Primary School, Nursery School, Childcare Institution, Health Centre and community development programs. COH exists to witness to the Good News of Jesus Christ by engaging in works of mercy and justice alongside the world’s most impoverished people. POSITION: QUALIFIED TEACHER JOB SPECIFICATION The Qualified Teacher is expected to teach primary students proper curriculum and help unqualified teachers in growing. QUALIFICATIONS •Teaching Training College certificate required. Experience in teaching and is strong preferred. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Qualified Teacher of the primary school is expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities with the highest level of integrity: •Encourage a positive learning environment for students •Teach all areas of primary curriculum •Write and present schemes to Headmaster •Plan and prepare lessons in assigned subjects •Maintain classroom discipline and report to the Headmaster •Fill out student progress books each term •Write and grade exams •Help organize and take part in school events and activities •Organize classrooms with proper learning materials •Oversee the distribution and record keeping of student textbooks •Encourage and help in the growth of unqualified teachers •Other duties assigned that will improve the school and positively affect students.
