OverviewGrace Community Health Centre is a rural CHAM Health Centre located between Mvera and Salima that provides OPD and maternal services.Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (Grade K)Salary: Within the salary scale of Grade KJob Specification:The Pharmacy Assistant will work alongside other clinical staff members to oversee medication procurement, stock, distribution, records and care.QualificationsDiploma in PharmacyRegistration and renewal with the Pharmacy, Medicines, and Poisons BoardPreferred: Minimum of 1 year of experience.Duties and Responsibilities:Reporting directly to the health center in charge, the Pharmacy assistant is expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities with the highest level of integrity:Dispenses prescription medication and other medical products to patients under direction of licensed pharmacist or medical staff with prescription authorityCount pills, label bottles, prices and compounds medications to prepare prescriptions for patients as directedPerform administrative duties, including answering phones, receiving and inputting prescription orders, operating cash registers and restocking inventoryMaintain proper drug storage and securitySupplies patients with information and education on their prescriptionLiaises with healthcare providers and patients to obtain correct prescription informationAnswer patients’ questions about medicationsTake inventory of drugs on hand and record resultsPlaces orders for additional drugs as directed by the pharmacist or medical staffNotify superiors when medication inventory needs to be replenished in a timely mannerPrepares billing information for medicationsComplete patients’ sales transactions for purchase of prescriptions and over-the-counter medications as well as other pharmaceutical products.Qualified candidates can email an electric copy of their CV, cover letter, and any education documents to [email protected], [email protected] or turn in a hard copy to the current HR Manager at the central office.
