The primarypurpose of the Process Engineer position is to provide sound engineeringdirection to support both production and maintenance operations in a chemicalmanufacturing environment. The positionis broadly constructed and will need an individual that can manage variedtechnical responsibilities. Assignedduties will be dependent upon skills and experience.
PrincipalResponsibilities:
· Tracksprocess metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades
· Performs process andunit operation validation testing and assessment (statistical process control –SPC), and process characterization for equipment.
· Collaborateswith cross-functional groups including Production, Engineering, Procurement, ,Quality Control and R&D to troubleshoot and problem solve issues in orderto meet production targets.
· Review anddevelop internal technical processes, SOPs, work instruction, and trainingwhile implementing productivity improvements.
· Providesreliable process engineering skills to effectively plan, organize, and monitoroptimal work activities and equipment performance.
· Ensuresequipment functions within equipment design standards and performs validationof technical performance of equipment throughout the production cycle.
· Preformsscale and piloting test work for new and improved chemical processes withrelated support documentation of objectives, findings, recommendations, etc
· Producestechnical report on equipment and process performance and make improvementrecommendations or adjustments.
· Completesall other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements Knowledge and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degreein Chemical or Processing Engineering (or equivalent)
· 5+ years’experience in chemical operations environment
· Workingexperience in leading cross-functional teams to achieve continuous improvementsand knowledge of lean thinking, six sigma or other continuous improvementmethodologies
· Experience withproduction quality systems
· Proficiency inreading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and detailed specifications
· Proficiency in MSOffice (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Projects, Outlook)
Communicate effectively in theEnglish and Swahili languages, including following oral and writteninstructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside theorganization to:
promote efficiencies within compqny technicaloperations, and maintain a safe working environment
