Malawi Adventist University is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill various positions of Academic and Non–Academic staff tenable at Lakeview College

A. ACADEMIC VACANCIES

1. Senior Lecturers/ Lecturers in Agriculture – Agronomy – Economics

Duties and Responsibility
• Teaching and devising best learning approaches for students
• Assisting students’ academic work and providing academic guidance
• Carrying out research, consultancy and outreach activities
• Scholarly publishing
• Participating in curriculum development and/or curriculum revision
• Planning and implementing projects that showcase new ways of doing things thereby giving relevance of higher education to the community;
• Developing and promoting new approaches/techniques in teaching and learning.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A Master in the relevant area
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses, prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate levels
• Demonstrated ability to prepare curriculum and program materials and ability to implement innovative approaches to student-centered learning and quality improvement.

B. NON–ACADEMIC STAFF VACANCIES

1. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) shall be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the DVC, Campus Management team and managing the office operations. Among others, the successful candidate shall perform the following duties;
• Planning and managing the DVC’s daily itinerary
• Arranging and handle all logistics for Campus Management Team meetings and events including scheduling meetings for the team
• Collecting and preparing information for meetings with staff and outside parties.
• Prioritizing and determining appropriate course of action, referral or response
• Providing hospitality to all guests and help to create a welcoming environment

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
• A minimum of a Bachelor in Business Administration – Management, Human Resource and Development obtained from a recognized institute of higher learning.
• Effective use of Microsoft Office
• Effective use of internet and database search strategies.
• Those with work experience in education institutions will have an added advantage.
• Good communication skills

2. CAFETARIA SUPERVISOR

The Cafeteria Supervisor shall be responsible for all tasks related to planning, managing,

directing, monitoring, controlling the development of the food services program to the staff and students of the university. Among others, the successful candidate shall perform the following duties:
• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers who prepare, cook, serve food, clean premises, collect money, and wash dishware.
• Provides instruction, directs and organizes the performance responsibilities for the cafeteria personnel
• Prepares periodic reports and inventories as required by the Administration
• Trains staff as it relates to food preparation procedures and safety regulations.
• Implements proper nutritional practices in the preparation of menus.
• Ensures strict sanitation procedures in the preparation of food.

QUALIFICATION AND ATTRIBUTES
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Nutrition obtained from a recognizedinstitute of higher learning
• Knowledge in food combination dietary principles
• Those with work experience in education institutions will have an added advantage.
• Strong supervisory skills.
• Ability to communicate with staff and students
