ABOUT THE COMPANY
Baringo County is situated in the Rift Valley Region and shares borders with 8 counties namely, West Pokot to the North West, Turkana to the North, Samburu to the North East, Laikipia to the East, Nakuru to the South, Kericho and Uasin-Gishu Counties to the South West, and Elgeyo-Marakwet to the West. The County is divided into 6 Sub-Counties, namely Baringo South, Mogotio, Eldama Ravine, Baringo Central, Baringo North and Tiaty
JOB SUMMARY
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPOINTMENT 1) Be a Kenyan Citizen; 2) Have a Diploma in either Fisheries Management, Natural Resource Management or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution; 3) At least 2 years’ work experience in related field 4) Be proficient in computer application skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Participating in provision of fisheries extension services. 2) Collecting fisheries statistical data. 3) Capacity building and advising of fish farmers. 4) Maintaining fish farms and hatcheries and 5 Assisting in ensuring hygienic fish landing sites, market and farms.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Reporting, Commercial fishing (inland, sea, other), Pest and disease control, Record keeping, Use of agricultural machinery (harvester, plougher, others)
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Diploma, Associate's degree
