Job Summary:
The Finance Lead will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. This role supports the financial health of the organization by assisting with various aspects of accounting, financial planning, and analysis. The ideal candidate must have solid expertise in Primavera Software and ability to effectively supervise team members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Budget Management:
• Assist in preparing, managing, and tracking the organization’s budgets.
• Monitor actual vs. budget performance, analyzing discrepancies.
• Provide monthly financial reports to department heads for budget tracking.
• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reports.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and audits.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable:
• Oversee and process vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
• Ensure compliance with vendor agreements and contract terms.
• Financial Analysis & Planning:
• Assist in financial planning and forecasting processes.
• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with forecasts and budgets.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations for business improvement.
• Audit and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
• Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external audits.
• Maintain and organize financial records for easy retrieval.
• Cash Flow Management:
• Monitor cash flow and prepare reports on cash flow trends.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
• Work closely with various departments to support their financial needs.
• Assist project managers in tracking financial performance against project budgets.
• System Management:
• Maintain the accounting systems and ensure they are functioning properly.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in financial systems.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration is desirable.
Required Experience:
• 10 years of experience in financial coordination, accounting, or a related role is desirable.
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Primavera V10.).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
• Fluency in English
• Good knowledge of Angola Finance/ Tax Obligations
Certifications (Optional):
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
