Job Description
Social work services in HMP Barlinnie are provided by Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership (GHSCP) and funded by the Scottish Prison Service (SPS). The role of the prison based social worker at Barlinnie has a key role in the delivery of the justice statutory social work function. They have responsibility for:
• Delivering a Statutory Social Work service with a prison based context and associated tasks in line with National Outcomes and Standards
• Risk assessments and other tasks associated with case planning for short and long-term prisoners who would be subject on release to statutory supervision in the community
• Risk assessments and associated tasks in the management of prisoners convicted of schedule 1 offences;
• provision of a duty service;
• delivery of one-to-one offence-focused interventions
This is a permanent post with a temporary location.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme & SSSC will be essential on taking up appointment Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
