Our client ATU BVI is a British Virgin Islands Trust Company which holds a Class I Trust License and offers a comprehensive range of fiduciary and corporate management services. ATU has been successfully operating in the BVI since 1995 and is a member of ATU Group, founded in 1929.

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager (m/w/d) to lead a comprehensive compliance framework and ensure strict adherence to the highest standards of regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring over ten years of experience in AML/CTF/CPF and sanctions compliance within the financial services sector, coupled with a deep understanding of international anti-financial crime standards. This role is well-suited to someone with strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to risk management. We are looking for a dedicated team leader who values integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism, and is ready to play a critical role in safeguarding business and client interests.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for ATU Group and its client entities, leading Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF), Counter Proliferation Financing (CPF), and Sanctions programs.
• Manage daily operations of the Compliance team, including coaching, training, and reviewing compliance recommendations.
• Oversee AML/CTF/CPF functions and implement compliance procedures to ensure adherence to ATU Group’s policies and relevant financial legislation.
• Prepare annual Compliance Action Plans and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
• Conduct high-risk client assessments, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, including managing PEPs and high-risk mandates.
• Monitor sanctions risk management processes, update ATU Group’s Sanctions List, and ensure compliance screening processes are updated and effective.
• Lead risk assessments on ATU Group’s clients, including due diligence for new and existing client relationships.
• Develop and implement corrective action plans, compliance policies, and training programs to strengthen the company’s compliance framework.
• Maintain and update the ATU Group Register of Reports and the Register of Suspicious Transactions, ensuring the company is vigilant in STR monitoring and reporting.
• Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager on employee due diligence and manage ongoing client and transactional risk monitoring.

Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in a relevant field, with certifications such as the International Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance or STEP Advanced Certificate in Trusts Law and Practice.
• A minimum of ten years of experience in AML/CFT/CPF and Sanctions Compliance within the financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of corporate holding and ownership structures and a deep knowledge of international standards in combating financial crimes.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to handle complex compliance frameworks and responsibilities.
• Approval from the BVI Financial Services Commission and the Anguilla Financial Services Commission to act as Compliance Officer.
