Graphic Designer for Tecno Mobile Botswana
Location; Gaborone, Botswana
Reporting to: Marketing Manager
A Graphic Designer at Tecno Mobile Botswana will play a critical role in enhancing the company’s brand presence and marketing efforts through creative visuals. The designer will work closely with the marketing and sales teams to develop engaging graphics for both digital and print media, focusing on promoting Tecno Mobile’s products, campaigns, and initiatives. The role involves creating visuals that resonate with the local market while maintaining global brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Campaigns:
- Design eye-catching visuals for Tecno Mobile’s marketing campaigns, including advertisements, social media posts, banners, posters, and in-store displays.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualize and produce innovative designs that align with product launches, promotions, and events.
2. Brand Identity:
- Maintain and enhance Tecno Mobile’s brand identity by ensuring consistent design across all marketing channels, both online and offline.
- Create visual content that aligns with the brand guidelines and appeals to the local audience.
3. Product Packaging and Merchandising:
- Design packaging, labels, and merchandising materials for Tecno Mobile products, ensuring they are both attractive and functional.
4. Digital Media:
- Develop graphics for the company’s website, email campaigns, and mobile apps, ensuring seamless user experience and alignment with the brand’s digital presence.
- Design animations and interactive content for online platforms to engage users.
5. Event and Point-of-Sale Materials:
- Create visual materials for events such as launch events, expos, and other promotional activities.
- Design point-of-sale displays and in-store materials to enhance product visibility and sales.
6. Collaboration:
- Work with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product managers, to ensure all designs meet business objectives.
- Respond to feedback and adapt designs as necessary.
• Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate with printing vendors and suppliers to ensure high-quality production of print materials, ensuring correct formats and specifications.
Essential Skills:
1. Creativity:
- A strong ability to develop unique and creative design solutions that reflect Tecno Mobile’s brand image and appeal to the Botswana market.
2. Proficiency in Design Tools:
- Expertise in graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Knowledge of video editing software and motion graphics is a plus.
3. Branding Expertise:
- Ability to maintain consistency in brand identity and style across all design outputs.
4. Digital Design Skills:
- Competence in designing for digital platforms, including websites, social media, and mobile apps, with a focus on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles.
5. Attention to Detail:
- Precision in typography, color selection, and layout, ensuring all designs are professional and of high quality.
6. Communication Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members, as well as clear communication with external stakeholders and vendors.
7. Market Awareness:
- Understanding of the local Botswana market, consumer preferences, and cultural nuances, enabling the creation of designs that resonate with the target audience.
8. Time Management:
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Problem-Solving:
- Adept at translating marketing and business goals into visually appealing designs, while also addressing design challenges efficiently.
10. Photography and Video Editing (optional):
- Basic photography skills for product shoots and video editing knowledge for creating engaging multimedia content.
Additional Skills:
- UI/UX Design Knowledge: Experience in designing for mobile apps and websites to enhance the user experience and ensure visual consistency.
- Knowledge of Printing Processes: Familiarity with printing techniques and materials to ensure designs are executed flawlessly in physical form.
- Basic HTML/CSS: Understanding of web design basics to work with developers on digital projects.
