The Concierge provides guests with highly specialized services meant to improve guest experiences such as dining, activities and events. They inform guests about local offerings and advice about finding the best deals on food and entertainment.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior job related experience preferred.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.
• Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
• Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
• Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.
Physical Requirement
• Ability to speak and hear.
• Frequent walking with some standing at times.
• Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
• Able to spend long periods of time on your feet, sitting or working in close quarters.
• Able to work early mornings and late into the evenings.
Duties
• Make dining and other reservations for patrons, and obtain tickets for events.
• Provide information about local features such as shopping, dining, nightlife, and recreational activities and destinations.
• Make travel arrangements for sightseeing and other tours.
• Receive, store, and deliver luggage and mail.
• Monitor guest correspondence and ensure that all are responded to in a timely fashion. Respond to guests prior to their arrival and delegating specific correspondents to the Resort Hosts, with the aim to plan their stay prior to checking in.
• Perform office duties on a temporary basis when needed.
• Pick up and deliver items, or run errands for guests.
• Carry out unusual requests such as searching for hard-to-find items and arranging for exotic services.
• Arrange for the replacement of items lost by travelers.
• Obtain a solid knowledge of the hotel product including room types, rates, food and beverage outlets and other hotel features and guest facilities.
• Obtain a solid knowledge of the local area including restaurants, points of interests, beaches and local activities.
• Any other duties assigned by the manager or supervisor.
