This is a great opportunity for a junior to mid-level commercial litigator to make what could be both a career defining and life changing move.
You will be joining one of the leading dispute resolution practices in the offshore world and be part of a small but impressive BVI team advising on a wide range of complex and high-value commercial litigation. You will get plenty of opportunity to take on responsibility and can expect to build both your matter management and client facing experience far more quickly than in a similar quality firm onshore.

British Virgin Islands
For some, the BVI is the pick of the Caribbean. A mountainous, rain-forested interior surrounded by picture-postcard bays, it is probably not far from the idyllic image that might cross your mind when you ponder whether there is ‘more to life’. It’s not for everyone. You will need to be comfortable with a slower pace, you will see its remoteness as a gift rather than an inconvenience, and you will be the sort of person who gets more out of sailing, diving, or relaxing on the beach than you do from the buzz of city life. If that’s you, you will love it here. Not to mention that the work, much of it emanating out of Asia, is some of the most interesting and challenging in the sector.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 4-6 months later. Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation, including temporary accommodation on arrival.
Package
Competitive salary with a low tax rate (c8%). Comprehensive benefits, bonus, and relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance).
Requirements
To secure a work permit in the BVI you will need to be admitted as a Solicitor or Barrister in the UK. This role is likely to suit someone with around 1 to 3 years’ PQE. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good track record of advising on high-value commercial disputes, gained with a leading UK practice or another offshore law firm.
Advocacy skills, whilst welcome, are not a requirement for this role.
