A Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery, equipment, and building infrastructure. This role ensures that operations run smoothly and that facilities remain in optimal working condition by addressing mechanical, electrical, and other technical issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure that everything is functioning correctly and complies with safety standards.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, and replacing worn parts, ensuring equipment longevity and optimal performance.
• Document all preventive maintenance tasks and maintain accurate records for compliance and future reference.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC issues promptly and effectively.
• Repair and replace defective parts, motors, controls, and other components in a wide variety of equipment and machinery.
• Work alongside specialized teams or contractors during major installations or overhauls, ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
• Address issues related to lighting, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
• Ensure that the facility's exterior and interior areas are safe, clean, and properly maintained.
• Ensure that all maintenance work adheres to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety protocols within the workplace.
• Identify potential hazards and report them to the appropriate departments or management.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of tools, parts, and supplies, ensuring that necessary equipment is available when needed.
• Communicate effectively with management and provide detailed reports on the status of equipment and any ongoing maintenance or repair work.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns or facility emergencies to minimize downtime and restore operations as soon as possible.
Qualifications
• Technical certifications in mechanics, electrical systems or HVAC.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance technician role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills.
• Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems effectively.
• Basic computer literacy to input data and use maintenance software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Careful attention to the quality of repairs and maintenance performed.
• Ability to quickly assess and resolve mechanical or technical issues.
