Location:Mill River Union High School Start Date:ASAP through December 1 (based on staffing needs)Supervision By:Building PrincipalThe OpportunityAs a Long-Term Substitute Science Educator, the candidate will have the chance to deliver engaging, high-quality science instruction to a diverse group of students aged 7-12. This role is crucial in fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that inspires curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science, ensuring every student has the opportunity to explore and thrive in their educational journey.Qualifications:
• The candidate should possess a valid Vermont educators license (or be eligible to obtain one).
• The ability to provide high-quality instruction and responsive case management that meets student needs is essential.
• A team player who thrives in collaboration with teams and multiple stakeholders is a must.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are key.
• The candidate should be dedicated to supporting a diverse range of learners through teamwork and collaboration.
Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging, hands-on science instruction that empowers students to explore and excel in their understanding of scientific concepts.
• Manage casework effectively, fostering open communication with all stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and support staff.
• Uphold compliance with relevant educational regulations and documentation, ensuring integrity and accountability in all practices.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on the latest science education practices.
• Administer curriculum-based and standardized assessments, actively contributing to the evaluation process to monitor student progress and success.
• Advocate for students needs by participating in relevant meetings and discussions, ensuring their voices are heard in the educational process.
