Welcome to the City of San Jose! We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Community Service Officer. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety and well-being of our community and we are looking for someone who is committed to making a positive impact. As a Community Service Officer, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our city working closely with law enforcement and community members. Uphold safety and security standards: The primary responsibility of a Community Service Officer is to ensure the safety and well-being of the community by enforcing city laws and regulations.

Establish positive relationships with community members: A Community Service Officer is expected to build and maintain positive relationships with members of the community, promoting a sense of trust and cooperation.

Work closely with law enforcement: Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to assist with investigations, provide support, and respond to emergency situations.

Respond to and resolve community concerns: Act as a liaison between the community and the city by addressing and resolving any concerns or issues raised by community members.

Conduct patrols and monitor activities: Conduct regular patrols in designated areas to monitor and enforce compliance with city laws and regulations.

Provide guidance and resources to community members: Offer guidance and support to community members on issues related to safety, crime prevention, and community resources.

Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed and accurate records of community incidents, complaints, and activities, and report them to the appropriate authorities.

Assist with special events and projects: Support and participate in community events and projects organized by the city, such as community clean-ups, neighborhood watch programs, and safety workshops.

Stay updated on city laws and policies: Keep abreast of any changes in city laws and policies, and ensure compliance with all regulations.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills: Communicate effectively with community members, law enforcement, and other city employees, both orally and in writing.

Adhere to ethical and professional standards: Conduct all duties in a professional and ethical manner, representing the city and its values at all times.

Continuously improve skills and knowledge: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to the role.
