Save for Health Uganda (SHU) is a reputable local NGO founded in 2002 with a mission to enhance the quality of health of Ugandans through Community Health Financing (CHF) approaches. SHU’s work involves creating member-managed and third party-managed community health insurance (CHI) schemes, empowering communities for livelihood improvement and advocating for good quality of health care services.
SHU promotes and supports Community Health Financing Schemes in the Districts of Kampala, Luwero, Nakasongola, Nakaseke, Masaka, Mityana, Kassanda, Bushenyi, Mitooma, Sheema, Iganga, Bugweri and Mayuge to grow and function well;
Position: Field Officer (1 Position)
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Duty station: Bushenyi
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Mobilise and sensitize communities about the health insurance principles and CHI schemes’ functioning;
– Support communities to create health insurance schemes
– Monitor and evaluate the performance of the schemes
Competencies:
– The person needed must be a team player, dynamic, self-motivated, a fast learner, hardworking, flexible and speaking the local language;
Required Qualifications and Experience:
– A degree in public health, development studies, social sciences, social work or any other relevant field.
– A minimum of two years relevant experience in a similar position.
– Must have good computer knowledge with abilities in MS Word, excel, power point and internet Must be fluent in speaking Runyankole flexible and ready to work for long hours
– Must be between 24 and 32 years of age
