Mari Petroleum Company Limited is one of Pakistan’s largest E&P Company operating the country’s 2nd largest gas reservoir at Mari Field, District Ghotki, Sindh. The Shares of the Company are quoted on all the Stock Exchanges of Pakistan. The Company is primarily engaged in Exploration, development and Production of hydrocarbon potentials (Natural gas, Crude oil, Condensate & LPG) in the country. MPCL is also exploring opportunities of expanding its business to become a player in the international hydrocarbon Market.

We are currently looking for a talented GIS Specialist who will manage our ArcGIS Geospatial Platform to produce, analyze, interpret, visualize geospatial datasets, develop and maintain GIS solutions. The ideal candidate should have expertise in ArcGIS software, spatial data analysis, and visualization.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a technical leader on GIS within the company.
• Design and implement GIS databases and mapping applications.
• Conduct spatial data analysis and data visualization.
• Able to create visually appealing and informative maps that effectively communicate geospatial information to a wide range of audience
• Manage the import and export of datasets between various GIS/geospatial data software
• Digitize data as needed to include in map layers and datasets
• Prepare, produce, and publish maps, graphics, displays and other related documents. Keep a GIS database organized and maintained.
• Integrate GIS data with other Geological and Geophysical Software systems, such as Kingdom, Petrel, DSG, this involves ensuring data synchronization between different systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS technology into various workflows
• Image analysis for surface geological interpretations
• Provide training and user support for GIS application programs
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Geology or Geophysics
• Experience with GIS certifications (e.g., Esri Certified Associate)
• Knowledge of spatial data formats (e.g., Shapefile, GeoJSON)
• Knowledge of database management (SQL) and cloud-based GIS platforms
• Familiarity with cloud-based GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Online)
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience in programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript)
• Satellite imagery processing, analysis and interpretation
Requirements:
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Geography, Geology, Geophysics, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field
• 4-7 Years of experience in GIS development and implementation
• Proficient in cartographic principles and mapping techniques.
• Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, Google Earth, etc.)
• Strong spatial data analysis and data visualization skills
• Able to create visually appealing and informative maps/Presentations that effectively communicate geospatial information to a wide range of audiences
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
