JOB TITLE: Mobile & IP Engineer
Experience & Qualifications:
• Appropriate Technical Qualification.
• An understanding of the telecommunications market and customers.
• Computer literate, especially MS Office.
• GCSE’s in Maths, English and Science, grade C and above or equivalent
• Clean driving licence.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Five years’ experience in telecommunication or a related industry.
• Good level knowledge of mobile engineering including LTE networks.
• Good Knowledge of TCP/IP and LAN networking.
• Must have experience with Windows based server systems.
• Must have experience with UNIX based systems.
• Knowledge and experience using Access relational databases.
• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to produce accurate & quality work.
• Demonstrate an interest in current and future technology.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
JOB PURPOSE
• Manage the operation, maintenance and optimisation of 4G mobile network.
• Assist with day-to-day IP Network duties.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Data Management of the Diego Garcia 4G/LTE network.
• Operation and maintenance of 4G packet core mobile network.
• Monitoring and reacting to network alarms.
• Performing logging and packet captures for fault analysis to vendor.
• Upgrading and expansion of the network.
• Assist the T&P team/Vendor RAN engineers with radio site management & network testing.
• The receipt and clearing of faults to customers, network or hardware.
• The routine backup of all systems for security.
• To coordinate consultants, suppliers and sub-contractors working on the Mobile network.
• Collection and Supply of Statistics & KPI’s to enable quality monitoring.
• IN ADDITION THE PERSON WILL BE REQUIRED TO;
• Provide 24-hour cover for mobile issues on a rotation basis.
• Understand and comply with the licence and other regulatory rules applying to the position.
• Understand and comply with any Data Protection Law as it relates to the position.
• Understand and comply with the Health and Safety responsibilities relevant to the role as defined in the Sure Safety Policy.
• Work in accordance with the safety procedures and safe working policies of Sure.
• To assist if required, in training of new members of the team.
• To be prepared to respond to the requirements of customers.
• To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time having regard to the nature of the post.
• Work to meet personal and group targets.
• To process all orders and work within targets set by the Company.
• To at all times safeguard the company from legal action or to bring the company in to disrepute.
• Undertake appropriate security awareness training covering information security and data protection.
