Job Title: Technical Engineering Director - Cloud Technologies
Job Description: Monarch Tractor is looking for a visionary and experienced Technical Engineering Director to lead our cloud technology initiatives in the autonomous electric tractor space. This role requires a strong background in cloud architecture, microservices, and agile methodologies, with hands-on expertise in Python, AWS, and emerging IoT technologies. The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving agricultural innovation and sustainable practices, leading teams to deliver scalable and reliable cloud solutions that align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team that excels in a fast-paced environment. Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Technical Vision: Develop and communicate a strategic technical roadmap for cloud and IoT solutions, ensuring alignment with Monarch Tractor’s goals and mission.
• Project Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end execution of cloud-based projects, balancing priorities, risks, and quality. Ensure timely delivery and high performance of all solutions.
• Architectural Authority: Serve as the primary architectural authority, guiding cloud and IoT solutions to align with best practices, scalability, and security standards.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, data science, and operations teams to address complex challenges, develop new features, and enhance autonomous capabilities.
• Innovation & Technology Evaluation: Continuously explore new cloud, AI, and IoT technologies to drive productivity and enhance product offerings. Make recommendations for tool adoption and process improvements
• Data Integration: Lead the integration of data science and machine learning into cloud solutions to improve functionality, performance, and user experience.
• Optimization & Scalability: Implement strategies for optimizing cloud performance, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and cost efficiency of our solutions.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify technical issues, analyze risks, and implement effective solutions to drive project success.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive Experience: 15+ years in cloud technology roles, with proven leadership in managing engineering teams and driving successful large-scale projects.
• Industry Expertise: Experience in IoT, autonomous systems, or electric vehicle technologies, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges in the agricultural or EV sectors.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of AWS, serverless computing, microservices, and cloud architecture. Skilled in Python and modern frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
• Agile & CI/CD Experience: Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with a background in CI/CD pipeline development for rapid and reliable deployments.
• Data Science Integration: Experience with data science concepts, statistical analysis, and data modeling. Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to nurture talent, inspire innovation, and lead cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic environment.
• Project Management Acumen: Excellent project management skills with a record of managing budgets and resource allocation eLectively. • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Risk Management: Proven ability in conflict resolution and risk management to ensure team cohesion and project continuity.
Preferred Qualifications: • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
• Experience in a startup environment or a high-growth tech company
