The Department
The IT Wagering Solutions Department of The Hong Kong Jockey Club plays a vital role in the organisation by providing application solutions for the Sports Wagering portfolio. The department responsible for delivering the SP3d Fixed Odds Host Systems, which are essential for ensuring accurate and efficient betting processes. Additionally, the department is tasked with delivering racing wagering and lottery transaction host components, including comingling gateways, control systems, and associated information systems lifecycle. Oversee the entire Agi le delivery process, ensuring high-quality and timely development of the Club's Backend Wagering Platforms.
The Job
You will:
• Lead the team responsible for implementation of automation components for our multi-cloud platform, ensure alignment with the overall DevOps strategy and framework
• Collaborate with IT leadership to define the Service Catalogue and DevOps roadmap and implement repeatable, automated solutions that enable migration of non-Cloud applications to the Cloud
• Define and encode infrastructure best practices for IT delivery and operations, utilise systems and tools to develop automation and monitor across the software development and operation lifecycle
• Lead technical evaluations and selection processes for new technical capabilities, oversee gap analysis studies, feasible alternative solutions, and recommend or approve scope of modifications
• Build strong cross-team relationships to deliver DevOps solutions for PaaS and laaS users across the application lifecycle (develop, test, deploy, operate)
• Provide technical coordination between internal stakeholders, service integrators, tool vendors, and partners
• Solve IT development and operations delivery and deployment challenges by applying technology, portfolio, and process knowledge and experience
About You
You should have:
• Degree qualification in Software Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant disciplines - or equivaient working experience
• Extensive experience in managing and delivering technical projects, leading teams of software engineers both locally and remotely to deliver IT solutions and provide operational support
• Experience in Cloud (private & public) platform automation including APIbased integrations and event-driven architectures,
• Preferably maintaining relevant certifications with AWS and Azure platforms
• Working experience in large-scale software development, particularly online transaction processing systems, and Agile software development
• Solid architecture experience, including enterprise/system design process, tools, and people experience
• Skills in the implementation of Continuous Integration (Cl), Continuous Delivery (CD), Continuous Monitoring (CM), and Infrastructure Automation using tools such as Git, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, Terraform, Ansible, etc
• Subject Matter expert in DevOps tooling with knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and release management industry standards
