About Art Central

Art Central showcases the next generation of talent from Asia’s most innovative galleries alongside distinguished artists from around the world. Presented in partnership with United Overseas Bank (UOB), Art Central returns to its home on Hong Kong’s iconic Central Harbourfront in 2025, with a Preview on Tuesday, 25 March and running through Sunday, 30 March. The upcoming edition will be staged in an architect-designed, purpose-built structure overlooking Victoria Harbour, conveniently situated in the heart of the city’s business district within walking distance of Art Basel at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

VIP Relations Manager | Head of VIP

Art Central seeks a highly professional, organised and efficient team player to oversee its VIP Relations programme – with additional support for partnerships and critical relationships. The role involves VIP relationship building and acquisition, VIP programme planning and administration, identifying and building partnerships, data management, and overall strategy to ensure that all VIPs, exhibiting galleries and partners presented at the Fair have a positive experience.

Strong communication skills (with fluency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese) and the ability to work independently are required. This is a pivotal role in the team and an ideal opportunity to dive into the deep end of the Hong Kong art scene while building a profile amongst the most influential art market personalities on the global stage.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Expand and manage the VIP database: research and cultivate local and international art industry VIPs, ultra HNWI, auction houses, active collectors/buyers, museum curators, other arts professionals, and key influencers.
• Build relationships with VIPs in Hong Kong, China, and elsewhere to ensure their attendance at Art Central.
• Build relationships with and create itineraries for international and local museum groups to visit Art Central.
• Hire and manage VIP support staff, including VIP tour guides and university docents.
• Input, update, and manage VIP lists on the database.
• Engage with galleries regarding existing contacts and key collectors to ensure they are invited to Art Central.
• Follow up and consolidate the Fair Director’s contacts and VIP invitations.
• Coordinate a comprehensive VIP Programme that reflects Hong Kong's art and cultural landscape and Art Central's international nature.
• Implement an RSVP strategy for tours and events on the VIP Programme.
• Communicate with VIPs throughout the run-up to the Fair to ensure they are aware of all available benefits.
• Manage and protect VIP data, including gathering and inputting data, de-duping entries, liaising with the directors and galleries to include VIPs, and ensuring all data is correct and current.
• Coordinate design, printing, and fulfillment of VIP collateral with the Marketing Manager.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with key institutions and arts organisations.
• Establish client-focused partnerships with corporate groups and collecting bodies.
• Fulfil sponsor VIP requirements according to contacts.
• Attend industry events and gallery openings to maximise networking opportunities in Hong Kong.
• Engage with Hong Kong's arts, culture and luxury brands to raise awareness of Art Central and network with VIPs/HNWI.
