Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Abuja
Job Type: Hybrid
Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. The DevOps Engineer will bridge the gap between software development and IT operations, and ensure that the development, testing, and deployment of software applications are done in a seamless and efficient manner. Also responsible for automating software delivery, managing infrastructure, monitoring performance, and ensuring the overall reliability and security of the software system. Their goal is to enable faster, more frequent and more reliable releases of software products, while maintaining the highest level of quality and security.
Key Responsibilities
Create, manage, and maintain software deployment pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and Azure DevOps
Automate continuous integration/delivery, gating deployments with automated jobs regression and unit testing configuration and maintenance
Perform root cause analysis of system failures
Support software development by provisioning test and production infrastructure as required
Assist in establishing API testing and deployment using technologies like Postman, AWS Lambda, and API Gateway-hosted APIs defined with Open API 3.0 standards
Assist in automated testing deployment as required
Assist in performing hotfixes in C#/.NET 6, JavaScript, HTML, CSS as required
Maintain proficiency in MSSQL/T-SQ
Requirements
Understanding how to scale systems both vertically (adding resources to a single server) and horizontally (adding more servers to distribute the load).
Knowledge of load balancing techniques and tools like Nginx, HAProxy, AWS ELB, etc
Understanding how to design systems that ensure minimal downtime with techniques like active-passive failover and data replication.
Familiarity with CDNs like Cloudflare, Akamai to cache and deliver content closer to users.
Knowledge of service discovery techniques and orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker Swarm.
Proficiency in designing cloud-native systems, including serverless architectures using services like AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud Functions.
Deep knowledge of Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
Experience with tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure ARM Templates to automate infrastructure provisioning.
