ABOUT THE COMPANY
Baringo County is situated in the Rift Valley Region and shares borders with 8 counties namely, West Pokot to the North West, Turkana to the North, Samburu to the North East, Laikipia to the East, Nakuru to the South, Kericho and Uasin-Gishu Counties to the South West, and Elgeyo-Marakwet to the West. The County is divided into 6 Sub-Counties, namely Baringo South, Mogotio, Eldama Ravine, Baringo Central, Baringo North and Tiaty
JOB SUMMARY
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPOINTMENT 1) Diploma in Leather/Technology or Footwear/Leatherwoods, Environmental Science/Animal Science any relevant qualification from a recognized University 2) At least 2 years’ work experience in related field 3) Planning skills 4) Report writing skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Provision of advisory services on rural tannery projects; 2) Feasibility studies; 3) Tannery layout plans; 4) Plot out effective effluent treatment plants for small scale tanneries; 5) Trainer/Instructor in a training institution; 6) Supervision of revenue collection and surrender from issuance of hides and skins licenses; 7) Prepare budgets on hides and skins programmes.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Reporting, Cattlery, Pest and disease control, Record keeping, Use of agricultural machinery (harvester, plougher, others)
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Diploma, Associate's degree
