Cross-listed with MBA 6218.ADM 4218Appraises the role of financial reporting in operating, financing, and investing decisions. Develops appropriate skills in the area of financial statement analysis. Reviews generally accepted accounting principles in Canada and elsewhere, as well as financial statement analysis of companies in different industries or geographic areas.Prerequisites: ADM 2223 and ADM 3415.MBA 6218Designed to enhance understanding of the usefulness of financial reporting in operating, financing, and investing decisions. Appropriate skills in the area of financial statement analysis developed. Begins with a review and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles in Canada and elsewhere. Progresses through financial statement analysis of Canadian and International companies in different industries and in different geographical areas.Prerequisite(s): MBA 6203 and MBA 6403.Minimum qualifications include a Master's level degree in a field relevant to the topic area as well as for business disciplines having work or practice experience, or having been an actively serving member of a board of directors, or having had significant participation in professional associations or standard/policy-making bodies within the last five years. PhD is preferred. Consideration may be given to applicants possessing an undergraduate degree in combination with a relevant professional designation.
