What you’ll be doing

Bringing your dynamic leadership style to grow the Bermuda office. Harnessing the dynamic growth culture synonymous with the Bermuda market with the support of Brit’s industry reputation, expertise, operational resources and financial backing.

Forging close relationships and a profile for the business in Bermuda and enthusiastically collaborating with London, as befitting a significant pillar of our overall growth.

Purpose of the Job

As our SVP of Specialty Treaty, you’ll underwrite and to manage the team to evaluate and underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the approved business plan subject to individual authorisation levels, and to research and develop new business opportunities. You’ll aim to enhance earnings through a strong mix of specialist risk taking and underwriting skills combined with a distribution capability and relationship management; to help build a strong business profile as a leading company in our sector.

You’ll have the ability to develop new and maintain existing key relationships with the market, including clients and within broking houses. You’ll also support the Brit Re Head of Casualty & Specialty in the preparation of the business plan as required, as well as implement and proactively manage the approved business plan for the class to ensure financial targets are met and performance is measurable against the agreed plan.
