The Congo Content Strategist will be responsible for developing and executing content strategies tailored to the Congolese audience for PM Kishan Journal. This role involves creating, curating, and managing high-quality content on global current affairs with a specific focus on topics relevant to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Republic of the Congo. The strategist will work closely with editorial, marketing, and social media teams to ensure that the content aligns with the journal’s global mission and effectively engages the local audience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Content Strategy Development:
• Develop and implement a content strategy specifically designed for the Congolese market while aligning with global editorial standards.
• Identify key trends, issues, and developments in the DRC and the Republic of the Congo to guide content creation.
• Create and manage a content calendar that integrates global news with regional interests and priorities.
• Research and Analysis:
• Conduct thorough research on the political, economic, social, and cultural landscape of both the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo.
• Analyze audience preferences, engagement metrics, and data insights to refine content strategies.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor content, and emerging digital innovations to ensure relevance and competitiveness.
• Content Creation and Management:
• Write, edit, and oversee the production of high-quality articles, reports, and features focused on Congo.
• Collaborate with local journalists, writers, and contributors to ensure accuracy, engagement, and cultural relevance.
• Ensure all content adheres to the journal’s editorial guidelines and standards.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with the editorial team to align Congo-focused content strategies with the journal’s overall mission and objectives.
• Coordinate with marketing and social media teams to effectively promote Congolese content.
• Engage with Congolese experts, thought leaders, and analysts to enhance the depth and credibility of the content.
• Audience Engagement:
• Develop and implement strategies to engage and grow the journal’s audience in the Congo.
• Utilize audience feedback and analytics to continuously improve content and enhance reader experience.
• Organize and participate in events, webinars, or discussions to increase the journal’s visibility and influence in Congo.
• Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all content is well-researched, accurate, and free from bias or misinformation.
• Oversee quality control processes for content production and publication.
• Regularly review and update content to reflect new developments and insights.
• Reporting and Metrics:
• Track and report on the performance of Congo-focused content using analytics tools.
• Provide regular performance updates and insights to senior management.

• Innovation and Trends:
• Stay informed about the latest trends in digital media, journalism, and content strategy.
• Explore and experiment with new content formats and technologies to enhance engagement and reach.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, International Relations, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in content strategy, journalism, or a similar role with a focus on Congo.
• Strong understanding of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo’s current affairs, politics, and cultural dynamics.
• Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
• Proficiency in content management systems and digital media tools.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply insights to refine content strategies.
• Fluent in French and English; knowledge of local languages or dialects (such as Lingala, Kikongo, Tshiluba, or Swahili) is a plus.
