OVERVIEW OF POSITION

Reporting to the Manager of Parks and Recreation, the Facility Attendant 2 will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties, assisting with sports field maintenance, arena maintenance, construction projects, cleaning park grounds and buildings, operating grass cutting, and field/grounds preparation equipment and other duties as assigned.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performing a variety of duties associated with the operation of the arena facility including the ice re-surfacer, ice edger etc.;
• Perform maintenance, repairs and other operational duties to ensure the safe operation of arenas, parks, trails, playing fields etc.;
• Operates and maintains machinery, trucks, Zamboni, tractor, mowers, loader and other maintenance equipment and tools;
• Responsible for safe and efficient operation of facility operations, to protect the safety of patrons & protection and maintenance of municipal assets;
• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to customer concerns and needs;
• Responsible for ensuring that programs, rentals and events run as scheduled;
• Other duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Completion of Grade 12 education;
• ORFA Recreation Facility Operators Designation is an asset;
• A valid class “G” license is required;
• Previous experience working in a parks & recreation setting is considered an asset;
• Operating various types of machinery such as grass cutting equipment and an ice re-surfacer is desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
• The incumbent in this position will work a maximum of 25 hours per week; however, some flexibility may be required for weekends and evenings will be required;
• The compensation range for this role is $31.56 per hour;
• Working condition for this position may include inclement weather.
