POSITION DETAILS:
BGCY Full-time Acting Middle Years Program Director -Term position to cover maternity leave

Full-time – 37.5 hrs/week

Salary Range: $29-$35/hr

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This Position reports directly to the Executive Director. BGC Yukon is looking for a professional and dynamic individual who excels in high pressure and multitasking situations. This person would oversee all middle years programming and community interaction on behalf of BGC Yukon(BGCY). We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic individual who can not only maintain the high-quality programing that is currently in place, but also aid in the expansion of our programing, community presence and fulfillment of the BGC Yukon Mission. We require individuals to hold a Class 4 license, Standard First Aid-CPR-C-AED, Food Safe Level 1, Post-Secondary Education in a child/youth work related field of study or at least five years of front lines experience, Suicide Intervention Training - ASIST, WHMIS, and 2 years Management Experience, and a Yukon ELCC ECE level designation.

Middle Years Program Director (MYPD) is responsible for:
• As a member of the executive staff team, advise, and aid in the Organization’s strategic planning, visioning and expansion efforts;
• Direct oversite of the Afterschool All-Stars Program & Specialty camps;
• Be aware of the needs of Yukon children & youth, current industry trends, government trends;
• Design programing and make recommendations to the organization to fulfill needs of the Community;
• Oversee all program operations pertinent to the MYPD role;
• Responsible for maintaining budget compliance within program areas and aiding in fundraising endeavors;
• Liaison with community in regards to BGC Yukon services;
• Aid in maintaining program media database;
• Maintain a program staffing plan;
• Prepare and submit reports to the Executive Director detailing youth statistics, program updates, budget tallies, staffing plan updates, and other departmental recommendations;
• Manage program volunteers

QUALIFICATIONS
• This position requires an understanding of First Nations History and knowledge of the Yukon Education System;
• Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to problem solve and find resolutions to issues/conflict;
• Excellent oral, written, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills;
• Proven time management skills;
• Proficiency with MS Office applications;
• Post-Secondary Education in a Child/Youth Work related field of study or at least five years of front lines experience;
• Suicide Intervention Training - ASIST
• Current Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector);
• Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate;
• Valid Foodsafe Level 1 Certificate (must be attained within first 3 months of work);
• Valid Class 4 Driver's License and access to reliable transportation;
• ELCC Levedesignation (1-3);
• Ability to provide all ELCC required documentation: Dr's note, TB screening, Immunization record, etc.;
