We are looking for a Network Capacity Analyst to support our Fibre and IP Networks team in our Fredericton or Woodstock, NB office. Reporting to the Manager, Network Capacity, the goal of the Network Capacity Analyst is to help ensure that any capacity issues are avoided by monitoring traffic levels across the network, analyzing traffic changes and requesting capacity upgrades for completion before negative customer impact is experienced. The Capacity Analyst is required to monitor capacity and traffic status of all circuits, microwave backhauls, and fibre links in the Xplore network.
Key responsibilities include:
• Requesting and managing various capacity upgrade requests to ensure good customer experience is maintained
• Updating device information in various data management tools (Cacti, Quickbase, Excel)
• Analyzing data such as traffic changes in order to determine the correct action for capacity upgrade or downgrade
• Creating month end reports for Aggregation IP team
• Working with RF Engineering, IP Engineering, Field Operations, Fixed Wireless Operations, and IP Operations, to address any capacity-related issues
• Maintaining regular daily and weekly analysis reports, as well as the data across multiple network systems
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Completion of diploma in a related field or equivalent experience: Electrical or Computer Engineering, IT, Telecommunications
• Minimum of 2 years of industry related experience within ISP environment
• Excellent attention to detail with good follow-up skills
• Excellent change management skills and must be able to multi-task
• Ability to interact and effectively communicate at various levels within the organization
• Functions well in a team environment
• Basic understanding of Internet technologies and protocols
• Knowledge of Ethernet technologies, FTTH, LTE, 5G and microwave backhaul systems
• Knowledge of systems such as Quickbase, Cacti
• Good analytical and organizational skills
• Great computer skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft products including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
