Senior Tax Manager

The rapid change and increased complexity of tax rules means a rewarding career in Tax at KPMG. We use our in-depth technical knowledge, and our understanding of how tax fits into the broader business picture, to work with our clients to help them manage their U.S. income tax reporting requirements.

We advise our clients on U.S. reporting rules so they can meet their compliance responsibilities and serve investor tax reporting needs across a wide range of areas, including captive insurance, hedge funds and private equity.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a member of our tax management team, the Senior Manager will assist the U.S. Tax Partner by providing a high level of tax knowledge, understanding and judgement. The Senior Manager will assist in the growth and development of our U.S. Tax practice, while participating and supervising the preparation of U.S. income tax returns for clients including specialized areas such as property and casualty insurance, international taxation, and hedge funds / private equity funds. The successful candidate must have experience and will be required to supervise tax staff.

Additionally, this role is expected to involve preparation of U.S. federal, state, and international disclosures and forms, including Form 1120, 1120-PC, 1065, 8621, 8865/8858 and 5471, and will include supervision of tax staff and providing tax advisory services.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a CPA or EA professional designation and at least six to eight years' experience in the field of U.S. taxation. The applicant must demonstrate an understanding of the preparation of U.S. federal income tax returns for corporations. Areas of specialization that are desired but not required are: asset management/partnership, property and casualty insurance, U.S. international taxation, and U.S. state taxation.

This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work at one’s own initiative and within a small team, and to meet tight deadlines. The candidate will need to be able to work a flexible schedule as overtime is required.
