TRUST OFFICER – TRUST SERVICES – BERMUDA – 10% TAX – HR803

About this opportunity

The Trust Officer will be responsible for the administration of trusts and companies and for providing administrative and technical support to the Directors of the Companies. The post holder may also be responsible for the supervision and management of an assigned administrator.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Trust & Company Administration:
• Liaising with and fostering ongoing relationships with clients/parties to the relationship and other professional advisors
• Maintaining the customer information system and databases
• Maintaining ongoing customer due diligence standards and supporting information
• Ensuring filing/information is properly safe-kept and that the files are maintained in good clerical order
• Preparation for and attendance at client meetings
• Preparation of trust, company, legal, financial and banking documents
• Drafting of resolutions and minutes
• Daily monitoring of transaction advices to review for abnormalities
• Assisting with the completion of forms, reports and any other documents required for the investment of trust /company assets
• Reviewing the trust investment strategy of trust portfolios to ensure adherence to the investment policy guidelines and trust regulations and report on abnormalities
• Reviewing activities on investment portfolios ensuring that transactions are properly documented and accounted
• Conducting annual trust reviews
• Attending to any action items, ensuring that they are satisfactorily addressed
• Escalating significant and/or outstanding issues as necessary
• Completing timesheets on a daily basis for weekly submission into a time management system
• Reviewing and gathering financial information as well as the preparation of any reports related thereto
• Preparing fee invoices for the relationship
• Provides technical guidance, direction and mentoring to Administrator(s) and Trust Administrator(s) as required
• Other ad hoc tasks and projects may be required from time to time

Supervisory:
• Assisting with the training of Administrators / Accountants
• Participating in the career development plans established for Administrator(s)
• Overseeing, providing technical guidance, direction and mentoring to the Administrator(s) / Trust Administrator (s) on a day-to-day basis
• Assisting with the annual performance review process

What you’ll need
• Bachelor’s Degree and TEP Qualification
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a private client trust and company environment
• Ability to be proactive with close attention to detail to ensure work is of a consistently high standard
• Strong administrative, analytical and organizational skills with accurate and timely completion of work
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite
• Ability to work independently but with appropriate balance on when to seek guidance and escalate to the Manager or Directors/Partners as and when required
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to motivate, manage, supervise, mentor and provide guidance to staff
• Ability to work under pressure
