0.4/0.6 FTE Maternity Cover. Start date 5th June 2023.
We are seeking to appoint a colleague who shares our ambition to ensure that every young person at Samuel King’s School achieves their personal best. This post will be mainly focused on working in our secondary school, Samuel King’s School, and is to cover a maternity cover which is likely to be a year, ideally starting in June 2023. We intend this post to be 0.4 or 0.6fte, but we are happy to discuss a variety of different contract types to suit the successful applicant and the needs of the school. We are more concerned with finding the right person, and we can then negotiate the exact parameters of the role with that person.
You will join a team of experienced and committed teachers, who work in a very collaborative and supportive way. Our children are delightful, and our community are very supportive of the school and our staff. Working in our unique federation will also give you excellent opportunities to work in a cross-phase setting, expanding your skills by working with children across all age ranges.
We are a small, community based, school with a long tradition of serving local children and their families. We aim to be caring and inclusive, while still providing an excellent academic grounding for all our children. We highly value being small, being able to get to know each child and their family very well, and being at the heart of this vibrant community.
We are also very proud of our academic record. Children at SKS achieve conspicuously well. However, we are also focused on developing the whole child, and pay as much attention to social skills and personal development as we do to academic excellence.
The school was last inspected by Ofsted in July 2022 which confirmed us as a “good school. The inspector verbally described us as “flying forward”. We now believe we have the capacity to be judged “Outstanding” at our next inspection. We are looking to recruit a person who are able to deliver superb teaching and learning and an excellent experience for our children.
We would welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs. It is a Federation policy to offer pay portability to colleagues on UPS elsewhere.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 19th April 2023 (midday) and interviews are planned to take place shortly after that.
Application pack is available on the school website.
