About the role
Looking for a varied and rewarding role where you can help make a difference to vulnerable young people?
Phoenix House cares for vulnerable adolescents, often with challenging behaviour. We are looking for someone who can understand and empathise with the needs of the young people, whilst remaining firm and working within set boundaries. Our aim is to encourage and motivate our young people to become independent adults with the necessary skills to look after themselves when living in the community.
A family feel environment working alongside a great team all working to improve the outcomes of our young people.

What will you be doing?
Night Wake Supervisors work on a rota basis, with 2 nights on duty and 4 nights off (including weekends and Bank Holidays). Enhancements (for unsociable hours payments increase the earnings for this post, in addition to the basic salary.
Specific training is provided but experience of life is a prerequisite.
• Supporting adolescents who may wake who may wake in the night afraid or whose behaviour may be challenging
• Maintaining accurate notes in the homes log’s and writing incident reports as required
• Undertaking a range of domestic duties.
About you
• You enjoy interacting with young people, having either work, voluntary or personal experience.
• You are enthusiastic, patient and flexible amongst other things. You find it easy to establish and build positive relationships with Young People.
• You are a confident communicator who finds it easy to relate to colleagues and young people.
• You are able to maintain accurate records and solve problems, using good verbal or written reasoning.
• You are confident working through the night taking responsibility for the security of the building and the care of our young people.
• You are able to engage with young people who may struggle with their emotions and recovery from traumatic experiences.
• You are emotionally intelligent, resilient and can put the needs of a young person first
The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance and two suitable references. Please make sure that your supporting statement covers how you fulfil the essential criteria set out in the Job description person specification as this will be used to shortlist for interview. You will need to provide a full employment history including any gaps since leaving full time education.
