About the role

The Health Improvement team based within the Public Health department are seeking to appoint a passionate and driven individual to develop a programme of work to reduce health inequalities. 1 Full Time post is available on an initial 2-year contract with the option to extend subject to funding.

What will you be doing?

You will lead the development and delivery of a clear strategic approach to embed the principles of trauma-informed practice (TIP) and care across services in North Northamptonshire to improve the health and wellbeing of our most vulnerable residents. Using your subject-matter expertise, you will confidently lead a TIP Action Group to ensure system-wide adoption of a TIP Framework that is evidence-based and a model of best practice. This group will oversee a range of activities required for the Council, its partner organisations and wider workforces in North Northamptonshire to be capable of identifying and understanding of how people have been affected by trauma to help prevent further harm and support effective recovery in the future.

Key activities:
• Development of a TIP strategic approach
• Creation, oversight and chair of a TIP Action Group
• Workforce TIP training needs analysis
• Commissioning or development of a TIP training framework
• Production or commissioning of high-quality resources
• Input into the development of a programme evaluation plan
• Link with community organisations and Local Area Partnerships

This is a new post and a new programme of work and it is expected that the post-holder will have the desire and ability to confidently lead the development of this scheme of work from its infancy, with the support from the Health Improvement Principal.

About you

We are looking for somebody who is passionate about trauma-informed practice and has considerable understanding and experience of the benefits of adopting TIP approaches across services and organisations. You will be able to communicate and influence at all levels within our own organisation and across the Northamptonshire system and have well-developed skills in stakeholder engagement and management. It is essential that the post-holder is able to demonstrate the value of both the role and the scheme of work, therefore the post-holder will need significant project management experience to ensure outputs and outcomes are realised within the timeframe of the programme.
