The Vacancy

Since becoming an academy in September 2009, Kettering Buccleuch Academy has seen many exciting changes. We are an all-through academy catering for students aged 4-18. We moved into our new, purpose-built building in January 2013. The academy continues to go from strength to strength, with happy and motivated staff, a supportive culture and plenty of opportunities for personal growth with our excellent staff CPD offer. We offer a range of benefits including our wellbeing and workload manifesto, Perkbox, covering lifestyle and retail benefits including childcare vouchers, a car lease scheme, cycle to work etc., subsidised meals and an on-site gym which is free for all staff to use.

We welcome visits to our school so that you can experience the unique ethos of Kettering Buccleuch Academy for yourself. If you would like to visit the academy, please contact Mrs Bailey, PA to the Head of Primary, on 01536 316368 or via email at MaggieBailey@kba.uk to book onto one of our tours.

The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our rapidly improving academy, from September 2023. We are looking for someone who is committed, innovative and solutions focused. This is a permanent position with a potential key stage lead opportunity for a strong candidate who can demonstrate excellent leadership skills. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with extra-curricular activities as well as numerous CPD opportunities both within the department and externally. A passion for shaping the lives of students is a must as well as a keen desire to continuously develop subject knowledge and pedagogy. You will be well supported by a friendly and knowledgeable team and a fully resourced department.

About You

You will have Qualified Teacher Status and are a strong classroom practitioner who motivates and inspires students with your passion for teaching. You have the ability to achieve success within a primary school setting and are able to deliver ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ lessons. You have good interpersonal skills, sound behaviour management skills and have the highest expectations of yourself and our students.

In return, we are offering a highly attractive salary, along with the benefits of being part of United Learning, opportunities to share good practice and collaborate with colleagues across every phase of education.

United Learning

We are part of United Learning, a large and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment to bringing out the best in everyone. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit. We are open to discussing flexible working options.
