Our client is looking for a Green Leaf Manager for their office in Tanzania.
Job Summary:
The Green Leaf Manager oversees the entire lifecycle of tobacco leaf sourcing, procurement, and quality management to ensure optimal raw material supply for manufacturing. This role requires close coordination with farmers, suppliers, and agronomy teams to maintain the quality and sustainability of green leaf supplies. The manager monitors leaf growing conditions, implements best practices in farming techniques, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. They work on cost management, quality improvement, and sustainable agricultural practices to enhance crop yield, quality, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leaf Procurement: Develop and execute strategies for sourcing high-quality tobacco leaves, building relationships with growers and suppliers.
• Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control processes, ensuring leaves meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Lead efforts in sustainable farming practices, working with growers on environmental impact reduction.
• Inventory Management: Maintain efficient inventory levels and manage leaf supply to ensure consistent production.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and prepare reports on sourcing, quality, and sustainability metrics.
• Farmer Development: Partner with agronomy teams to support farmer training and development programs to enhance crop quality and yield
