The Product Engineer for Engineered Chain within Rexnord’s Industrial Powertrain Solutions, Industrial components business will be integrated with all engineering facets of Innovation and new product development (NPD), including concept generation, design validation and testing, failure mode analysis, and technical support of operations.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, or related engineering field
• 3-5 years’ experience designing heavily engineered mechanical products
• Fundamental understanding of statics and dynamics in mechanical systems
• Familiarity with ferrous metallurgy and heat treat operations
• Experience with design failure mode effects analysis (DFMEA) and statistical design of experiments (DoE)
• Experience with fundamental mechanical testing (e.g. ultimate tensile and tensile fatigue)
• Proven ability translate market requirements into simple product testing programs to compare performance of competitive products
• Experience designing and launching solutions in complex end-user mechanical systems
• Fluency in CAD or solid modeling
