ABOUT THE COMPANY
As part of its long-term policy to ensure political and social harmony, enhance economic growth and alleviate poverty, Government of Uganda embarked on a far reaching program of decentralization reform. The reform initiative, as introduced in 1993 was an outcome of a review of the erstwhile resistance council system and related statutory instruments, borne out of the desire to make local governments effective centers of decision making and public service delivery.
JOB SUMMARY
Job summaryTo prevent and control the spread of diseases in the communityQualifications: • Must have a Certificate in Environmental Health Science or its equivalent from a recognized Institution. • Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participating in Community Based Environmental Health Activities;Enforcing Environmental Health Act, Regulations and By-laws;Accounting for allocated resources;Compiling relevant basic health data and submit to the Health Inspector;Liaising with Local Authorities in organizing home improvement competition;Participating in research activities; andCompiling and submitting periodic reports.
