ABOUT THE COMPANY
As part of its long-term policy to ensure political and social harmony, enhance economic growth and alleviate poverty, Government of Uganda embarked on a far reaching program of decentralization reform. The reform initiative, as introduced in 1993 was an outcome of a review of the erstwhile resistance council system and related statutory instruments, borne out of the desire to make local governments effective centers of decision making and public service delivery.
JOB SUMMARY
QualificationsA Diploma in Animal Health, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Husbandry or Ranch Management from a recognized institution.CompetenciesProject managementRecords and information management;Communicating effectively;Time management and ;Time management for quality standards
RESPONSIBILITIES
Treating and vaccinating livestock, other domestic animals and poultry;Training farmers on modern animal husbandry methods and animal nutrition;Carrying out meat inspection;Collecting and documenting data on livestock and poultry; andEstablishing and enforcing Quarantine
REQUIRED SKILLS
Project monitoring and evaluation (M&E), Cattlery, Operative management, Data collection, Training delivery, Training program planning, Agriculture and natural resources
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Diploma, Associate's degree
