Paralegal - Maritime & Transportation Clyde & Co seeks a Paralegal to support our Energy, Marine, and Natural Resources practice group. This practice is focused on litigating maritime, transportation, commercial and insurance disputes, and providing insurance coverage, corporate and business legal advice to transportation companies. This opportunity is ideal for a Paralegal who has 3 - 5+ years’ experience. We are open to considering candidates in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Orange County. Key Responsibilities Drafting and sending assorted documents to clients, counsel and courts as needed, such as correspondence, deposition notices, briefs, motions, orders, petitions, and discovery Case maintenance (organization of files such as correspondence, pleadings, discovery, etc.) Draft, update and maintain spreadsheets to track status of claims Triage and sort e-mail inbox to open new matters Assist with document productions Shepardize motions and opinion communications Liaise with clients regarding status of claims, potential claims, and coverage letters Finalize and send coverage letters Monitor state and federal court dockets and forecast possible upcoming claims Qualifications Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel) Familiarity with Court websites Web based document review databases (Nextpoint and/or Relativity) Good command of Westlaw Excellent written and oral communication skills Superior organizational skills High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to handle highly sensitive information Ability to gracefully work under pressure Flexible and adapts well to changes in workload Self-sufficient/self-starter Trial experience is a plus Our Values Our values are the principles that guide the decisions we make, unite us in our endeavours and strengthen our delivery, for our clients and our firm. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
