Our client, a global financial institution, is actively seeking an application support engineer to join their team in Hong Kong or Singapore. The successful candidate will have supported front-back office trading applications as well as solid knowledge across Python, Shell, SQL and FIX Protocol.

The role:
• Address technical trading issues autonomously whenever possible, involving team members when necessary, and escalate to subject matter experts within the organization or external vendors as needed.
• Collaborate with fellow technical support engineers, leveraging individual expertise to expedite solutions for customers.
• Cultivate relationships with trading groups, particularly the execution services team, and collaborate with global counterparts to ensure seamless global coverage.
• Communicate trading infrastructure and platform status updates to the relevant trading staff, including exchange notifications.
• Enhance environment management tools to minimize risk and enhance support team efficiency.
• Aid in automating processes to optimize efficiency and streamline trade support operations.
• Document and curate a knowledge base to offer effective solutions to trading challenges.
• Deploy, support, and monitor the firm's internal trading systems.
• Coordinate with vendors, internal application and infrastructure owners, and tech support to guarantee correct installation, configuration, and testing of trading platforms.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to prioritize tool enhancements and participate in software/version releases.

What you offer:
• 4+ years of experience in a Linux environment and proficiency in relevant support tools.
• Proficiency in shell scripting, Python, and SQL technologies.
• Knowledge of FIX Protocol
