Our client is seeking a Community Engagement Officer to join their team in Zimbabwe. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving patient recruitment, facilitating community outreach, and ensuring effective communication of research protocols and consent forms.

Responsibilities
• Patient Recruitment & Engagement:
• Lead the development and execution of community outreach strategies.
• Work closely with clinical teams to communicate protocols and obtain informed consent.
• Ensure recruitment strategies are culturally appropriate.
• Protocol & Consent Form Management:
• Assist in the development and customization of clinical research protocols and informed consent forms.
• Ensure clear explanation of consent forms to participants.
• Monitor compliance with ethical standards.
• Good Participatory Practice (GPP) Compliance:
• Implement and uphold GPP standards.
• Ensure alignment with international best practices and ethical guidelines.
• Train staff on GPP requirements.
• Community Advisory Board (CAB) Management:
• Engage with and manage CABs.
• Facilitate CAB meetings and integrate community insights into research activities.
• Act as a liaison between the CAB and clinical research teams.
• Patient-Facing Materials Development:
• Create and manage the development of culturally appropriate patient-facing materials.
• Ensure materials are appropriately translated and easy to understand.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure materials are visually appealing and accessible.
• Policy Development and Compliance:
• Collaborate to develop community engagement policies that align with local and international regulations.
• Ensure compliance with national ethical standards and legal requirements.
• Monitor and update policies as necessary.

Key Skills
• Strong knowledge of GPP and patient recruitment in clinical research settings.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in creating and managing patient-facing materials.
• A passion for community engagement and ethical clinical research.
• Ability to build strong relationships with community stakeholders and patient populations.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proven experience in managing CABs and patient recruitment strategies.
• Experience in developing and managing informed consent processes and patient-facing materials.
• Strong attention to detail.

Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Community Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in community engagement, ideally in a clinical research or healthcare setting.

This role will require travel within Zimbabwe and attendance at regular meetings. The Community Engagement Officer will need to ensure continuous alignment and engagement with clinical teams and community stakeholders
