World Relief’s mission is empowering local churches to serve the most vulnerable.World Relief Malawi will be implementing Integrated Child development and protection interventions in Dedza district from 1st February, 2022. The project will be enhancing increased access to quality Integrated ECD and Child Protection in Dedza district.World Relief Malawi, therefore invites applications from interested and qualified candidates to fill the vacant positions tenable in Dedza district as follows:Child Development and ProtectionJob Title: Child Protection and Development Field Coordinator (1 Position)Reports to: Child Development Program CoordinatorLocation: Dedza District, MalawiKey ResponsibilitesReporting to the Child Development and Protection Program Coordinator, the Child Protection and Development Field Coordinator will ensure that all project related activities implemented by WRM in the district contribute significantly towards the reduction of child abuse and neglect cases in Dedza district as well as increased access of children to quality early childhood development (ECD) services including Care for Child Developement in the district. The responsible officer will work with other key stakeholders from Dedza District Social Welfare and Child protection officers to ensure coordination of ECD and Child Protection activities in the district.The incumbent will assist in the coordination of project activities and resources including personnel and ensure achievement of project deliverables within agreed timeframes.Specific FunctionsFacilitate the developement and implementation of project plans and budgets in collaboration with Program Coordinator, Community Facilitators and Dedza District Coordinator;Coordination of field level human, financial and material resources of the project to ensure efficient resource allocation and utilization for all components;In liason with the Progran Coordinator, facilitate quarterly project technical reviews and planning meetings with the promotersEnsure that monthly, quarterly and annual reports are in submitted in time;Maintain close links with the appropriate Government Departments and other organisations (including NGO’s) implementing ECD, Care for Child Development and Child Protection related projects in Dedza district to ensure complementarity and avoid duplication of efforts;Provide overall supportive supervision of all CCD, Parenting and ECD and Child Protection training events planned in the project;Ensure integration of the project activities with agriculture, village savings, church and community engagement initiatives in Dedza distrct.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Early Childhood Development, and any other Child Development related qualifications from well recognised and accredited university or college.Minimum of three years’ experience in the field of ECD and Child Protection and community child care servicesThose with experience of CCD, Parenting and youth programming will have added advantageChild Development leadership and project managementAbility to network and collaborate with district and community level stakeholdersExcellent writing and communication skillsReadiness to work in remote rural areasAbility to communicate with beneficiaries in their local language (Chichewa)Computer LiteracyThose with clean Motor Cycle driving license will have an added advantage.Commitment to World Relief values and Child Protection policyMethod of applicationsInterested candidates are requested to submit their applications and CVs and provide names and contacts of three traceable referees to World Relief by 10th December, 2021.
