Plan International Malawi currently has an approved country strategy (2017-22) Core sectors of programming include Sexual reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), Gender transformation, Resilience, Humanitarian response, Protection from all forms of violence and Inclusive quality education. We have the following Temporary position at our Mulanje Program Area Office. ICT4D COORDINATOR Dimensions of the Role The post holder will report to the Program Area Manager and Country ICT4D Manager and will manage the maintenance of hardware equipment and the user helpdesk. The role will include provision of second line support operations and undertaking of other appropriate duties as requested by the Country ICT4D Manager and the Program Area Manager to assist with the efficient running of the office support services. Accountabilities Information and Communications Technology (ICT) To provide First line support: To maintain, support and undertake trouble-shooting and diagnostics on computers – PCs and Laptops. To undertake trouble-shooting and diagnostics on hardware including the network infrastructure; Routers, Switches and Cabling. To undertake trouble-shooting and diagnostics of the security and application servers To perform routine maintenance tasks on Plan international Malawi equipment to include computers, printers and other peripherals To support the installation of new equipment. To update and maintain the Asset Register – update and actions including tagging and embossing. To undertake fault finding to resolve hardware and software problems. To undertake Network tasks including the creation of and updating of user accounts. To provide support in the documentation of short-term ICT equipment lease to staff members on duty outside office. To provide support with respect to the use of Audio/Visual hardware including video and audio recording. To support any requirements for media duplication and capturing online visual and audio resources. To adopt a flexible approach to working hours enabling out of hours support to community and other external events. To ensure all ICT working practices adhere to Health and Safety requirements. To respond to ICT Helpdesk default allocations. To contribute to internal preventative maintenance routines (to be agreed in time and motion processes). To Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications Support in ensuring the security and privacy of networks and computer systems To provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule. Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders through the ICT4D Manager. Information and Communications Technology for Development (ICT4D) Support the ICT4D component of all projects. Use trends to adjust ICT4D project roadmap as necessary Support the ICT4D Manager to develop an integrated plan for execution of current ICT4D projects. Knowledge, Skills, Behaviours, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives Excellent communication skills and be able to deliver high quality support to Plan International Malawi Staff across a range ICT area both on-site and via our Helpdesk. Experience in supporting first and second line ICT technical support to customers. The successful candidate must be equipped with a good understanding of IT technology with technical support experience / knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows 7/10 and Windows Server environments, networking and systems troubleshooting and resolution. Skills Specific to the Post Project Management skills IT technical skills in infrastructure and/or applications Understanding of Plan’s business processes and strategic objectives Proven knowledge of Microsoft Windows, SQL Server, Exchange server and communication Technologies. Database Administration skills Ability to understand and communicate context and opportunities for ICT in development and ICT innovation for programs Project Management Skills Qualifications and Experience A Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology or closely related field 3 years of experience in a relevant field Relevant professional qualifications and certifications will be an added advantage.
