ABOUT THE COMPANY
Baringo County is situated in the Rift Valley Region and shares borders with 8 counties namely, West Pokot to the North West, Turkana to the North, Samburu to the North East, Laikipia to the East, Nakuru to the South, Kericho and Uasin-Gishu Counties to the South West, and Elgeyo-Marakwet to the West. The County is divided into 6 Sub-Counties, namely Baringo South, Mogotio, Eldama Ravine, Baringo Central, Baringo North and Tiaty
JOB SUMMARY
Requirements for Appointment 1) Bachelor Degree in (Food Science, Home Economics, Agriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture Economics, Agribusiness, Agriculture Education and Extension, Agricultural engineering, Natural Resource Management and any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in Kenya. 2) Must have at least 2 years’ experience in similar work 3) Computer literate with knowledge on related Computer packages 4) Possess Proposal development skills, 5) Good Communication skills, 6) Report writing skills 7) To have resource mobilization skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Implementation of agriculture strategic plan, objectives and policy framework in the sub county 2) Providing technical support to farmers 3) Coordinating capacity building of farmers for maximum production 4) Coordination of Crops development and food security, Agri-Nutrition, Engineering, Extension, Research and Training, Agribusiness and Projects Monitoring and Evaluation. 5) Implementation of Agricultural projects 6) Participate in projects budgeting (Public participation) 7) Prudent financial management of project funds 8) Effective and timeliness execution of extension duties 9) Compilation of field reports 10) Participation in assessments and surveys 11) Critical analysis of field reports for decision making 12) Dissemination of reports to other staff and stakeholders 13) Implement any other relevant county/sub-county activities as may be assigned by the supervisor
