Project Industrial Hygienist

KBR is providing Project Management Services encompassing Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phase execution supporting KBR’s client Sonangol’s multi-billion-dollar grass roots Lobito Refinery Project in Angola Africa.

KBR is looking for Project Industrial Hygienist to support the project’s adherence to Regulatory Compliance and Standards in the Field. This role will ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations while staying updated on industry-specific standards and best practices. The Project Industrial Hygienist will support KBR’s HSE team to ensure the organization is well-prepared to handle unforeseen situations and that safety equipment is readily available and functional.
• **This role will start at the Angola Project Site***

Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify health, safety, and environmental hazards
• Perform audits through a comprehensive Environmental Health & Safety program that includes industrial hygiene monitoring, hazardous materials management, preconstruction risk assessments and construction safety, fire and life safety, emergency response, and regulatory compliance
• Assess workplace risks and collaborate with relevant departments to develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks
• Raise staff awareness of good hygiene practices
• Provide recommendations for improvement in HSE measures
• Stay informed about local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards
• Ensure the organization’s compliance with all applicable HSE laws and guidelines
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, testing’s, assessments, and incidents
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions
• Participate in the development of regulatory labeling of recipes and compliance monitoring
• Self-quality control (food test, grammage control), Metrology, Quality indicators
• Follow-up of microbiological analyses
• Actively seek feedback for ongoing improvement of HSE processes
• Implement measures to enhance overall health, safety, and environmental protocols, contributing to a workplace that evolves to meet emerging challenges
• Facilitate HSE training sessions for employees and EPC contractors to enhance their awareness and understanding of safety and environmental practices
• Collaborate with HSE and other relevant departments to develop and deliver training programs
• Participate in the development and testing of emergency response plans and procedures
• Ensure employees & EPC contractor are trained and aware of health and hygiene protocols
• Monitor and assess environmental impacts associated with company operations
• Recommend and implement measures to minimize the organization’s environmental footprint
• Communicate HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines to all employees
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization

Qualifications:
• Proven ability providing HSE support in the field on large scale oil & gas projects
• In depth knowledge of Industrial Hygiene field processes and procedures
• Strong understanding and proficiency with implementation and monitoring of quality tools and various manufacturing processes (procedures, traceability, registration, HACCP, etc.).
• Inspections and Audits, Risk Assessment, Regulatory Compliance, Continuous Improvement Initiatives, Training and Education, Incident Investigation, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Compliance, & Safety Communication
• Diploma or equivalent
• 4 + years of Industrial Hygiene experience on related projects
