The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a project from start to finish. This candidate will be able to create a plan of action which will consider a fixed timeline and evaluate risks. This individual should also have experience managing people and be an effective communicator.
Responsibilities
• Familiar with project execution under EPCM and/or EPC scheme
• Responsible for the overall management of Kazakhstan local contents of the project
• Supervise local Kazakhstan engineering company related to the local scope of work; monitor progress of local engineering company and ensure quality of its deliverables
• Manage interfaces between Company in-house engineering and the local engineering company, plan clarification and review meeting and act as a facilitator
• Ensure that the local codes & standards requirements are properly captured in the Project Design Brief by the local engineering company.
• Ensure that local permitting requirement and process are clearly defined and monitor & control permitting performed by local engineering company. Permitting from Technical Conditions up to State Expertise.
• Coordinate with all local design consultants/contractors to ensure consistency and compliance with Project requirements and Client needs.
• Coordinate designers (i.e. local engineering company) and consultants for production of detailed design development, tender drawings and specifications.
• Conduct value engineering reviews with the support of the Architecture Department, Civil and Structural Engineering Department, and MEP Engineering Department.
• Participate/Review cost estimate performed by local engineering company, to obtain the construction cost estimate at Concept Design, Basic Design and Detail Design stages
• Support Project Director for proposed design changes and evaluation of their impact on schedule and budget.
• Review and evaluate claims from local engineering company and manage the change orders as required
• Monitor local engineering company deliverables and certify its milestone achievement for payments
• Lead pre-qualification of local General Contractor following Company standard and procedure
• Manager external contractors such as (i) land preparation works, (ii) external utility infrastructure connection, (iii) general contractor, etc.
Qualifications
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field (i.e. Civil, Mechanical, etc.)
• 10+ years of experience in project management or relevant fields.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver a completed project
• Strong communication skills
• Experience working with a team
• Speaking fluently English and Russian
