Description
A large-scale commercial citrus farming operation in Botswana is seeking a qualified Financial or Management Accountant. This opportunity is ideal for a positive, energetic individual who has a desire to grow quickly, is a fast learner, is adaptable, and has a love for nature. A passion for Africa and an interest in people management in an empowering way are essential for this role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Key areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to:
• Overseeing debtors and creditors functions.
• Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Responsible for month-end journals.
• Managing monthly VAT reconciliations and returns.
• Stock management.
• Managing budgets.
• Responsible for monthly cash flow reporting.
• Ensuring successful annual audits.
• Ensuring compliance with labour legislation.
• Effective workforce management.
• Maintaining records and documentation.
• Developing and implementing systems and internal controls to improve efficiency.
• Reporting on finance and progress.
• Handling change and pressure constructively.
• Reporting directly to the CFO.
Requirements:
• A BCom Management Accounting or Chartered Accounting Degree is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years post-article experience in a management accounting or financial accounting role.
• Previous experience in the agriculture sector, especially commercial farming, will be advantageous.
• Advanced computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Advanced competency in Pastel/Sage Evolution 200 and other accounting software is essential.
• Willingness to relocate to Botswana.
• People management and coordination experience.
